In paper number three, I used three different sources, Animals Like Us, Considering the Lobster, and What the Crow Knows. I used all three of these specific sources because I felt as though they were all able to demonstrate the views on the lives of animals that I wanted to express in my paper. My method for finding these quotes was that I would first start by finding a topic for my essay then I would read through the essays to find important quotes that related to the topic. Then I would take notes on each one and how they related to the topics. This method works well for me because I’m able to plan out my essay according to the quotes and have an idea of which way I would like the paper to go. Often times out of many though, once I get going on the paper I’ll steer it in a slightly different direction so it helps that I have a selection of quotes to choose from to perfectly fit each paragraph. In the past, I didn’t have much of a method I would just start writing my essay and I would find a quote each paragraph. This made it more challenging for me because most of the time the quotes just didn’t really fit all that well so this new method really helped me out a lot with paper three because I was able to find quotes that I fit perfectly with my paper.
